Over the weekend of the 19th and 20th of September I'm running in the Equinox 24 hour race in memory of our family member, friend and colleague John Banks.

John, known to his many friends as Mant, was married to my sister, Sarah. Sadly we lost him last October after he bravely lived with Leukaemia and the treatment for the last few years.

Prior to that in the early 1990's he had dialysis treatment before receiving a Kidney transplant in 1996, which served him well for the rest of his life. During all the different treatments he never complained, bravely facing each challenge and then getting on living life and enjoying work and his many interests to the full.

My 24 hour challenge will be tough- but nothing to what John faced for 24+ years and knowledge of his determination will help drive me on to complete this challenge and raise funds to go towards beating Blood cancers.
