Story
In January 2013 my lovely friend Rachael Metherell and her family went through an extremely difficult time when her Mum Pauline had a brain haemorrhage. After being very poorly in Derriford hospital, Plymouth for several months, Pauline moved to the Plym NeuroRehabilitation Unit in Mount Gould where her recovery was aided by the brilliant staff and facilities there. Pauline is now at home and her recovery is continuing with the support of her family. Throughout this I have been absolutely inspired by how strong Pauline has been and how amazingly Rachael, Emma and Brian have coped with what has happened, as a family they are inspiring in their positivity and kindness.
By running the marathon I am hoping to raise as much money as possible for the Plym NeuroRehabilitation Unit to ensure the same support for others who go through life changing brain and spinal injuries, and to make use of the empty beds that were there due to lack of funding
Please give what you can for this worthy cause (and feel free to buy me a wine or two when I've finished...!).
