Our ministry partners are IsleGo and the Presbyterian Church of Manaus on the Amazon River. They use medical and dental boats to serve the people who live along the Amazon. Our teams live on one of the boats for a week, treating people in a new village each day, as well as connecting in the community through youth/children's outreach, home visits for prayer, evangelism, and occasional labor projects.
While clinics are used to reach the villages, non-medical team members are also needed on each missionary journey to make door-to-door visits in each village, to assist with children's ministry, in crowd control, and to paint houses. This is a trip where students will get to build long-lasting relationships with team members and local friends.
Students will have the opportunity to live on the medical boat, traveling along the Amazon River. In many cases, this will be the only medical or dental services the village will receive for one or two years.
