Story

Hello!

This September I am going to Nicaragua for 12 weeks to volunteer with Raleigh International; a sustainable development charity. I will be part of a team of 6 UK volunteers and 6 local volunteers working on a water, sanitation and health project. This might include building eco-toilets, 'tippy taps' or other water systems.

This placement is run by International Citizen Service, a UK government programme, that is 90% funded by the Department for International Development. The money I am raising is the additional 10% needed and goes straight back to the programme.

I will be based in a rural area and I have begun my quest to speak Spanish! It is a fantastic opportunity to experience another culture and give my time to a community that needs it. It will be 12 weeks of hard work and I can't wait. I am sure I'll have plenty stories to tell you all on my return!

Any donations would be much appreciated and I'll send you a postcard when I'm there.

With love,

Chloë x
