I was inspired to support this charity after I met Ski Harrison. Here is a note from Ski about her direct involvement with Future Hope -

I felt an instant connection with Future Hope and am delighted that others still do today (such as Helen). Together we can make a difference.
Anthony, my husband, a retired architect, and I were in Calcutta (now Kolkata) in 2001, as I was photographing for Help Age India, after winning a competition run by Help the Aged UK.
On our last day but one in Kolkata we met Tim Grandage, who founded Future Hope as a 30 year old man whilst acting as a bank manager for HSBC. He had brought along with him, to the hotel we were staying at, a number of the older FH boys and  the following day we visited the School and the home and decided to support this charity. The next year we spent several months out there as they wanted to build a small village on some land they had bought at Barrackpore so Anthony offered to design it and we both were able to involve ourselves with the children in a number of ways. The idea for the village was to offer youngsters on leaving FH affordable housing and to get used to being self sufficient. More recently they have also added a Skills Centre.
In subsequent years we have made further visits and I am still a supporter and hope you can support Helen Billington with her band of swimmers for "Chilli Challenge"in aid of this worthwhile charity.

It is by making connections with people that enables human kindness to flourish. Here in South Devon we too are joining your Chilli Challenge.

Helping at home and abroad, especially in these unprecedented times of a global pandemic, makes one feel positive and hopeful. So huge thanks to you Helen, having met Ski with me on the Cornish Coast in September (sharing an amazing Dhal at the coast path hut!) and hearing the Future Hope story, for seizing the chance to make us all connect with FH. And thank you to Ski for being an inspirational documentary photographer who keeps on connecting with people and sharing compassion and energy drawn from her well travelled life.

Collectively we can make a difference. In South Devon we are supporting the cause with a Chilli Dip at Skis house on Bow Creek when the second lock down ends. Social distancing will be paramount and we hope the dip will be bracing, beautiful and beneficial!
Other friends will be doing their Chilli Challenge wherever they can.
Good luck everyone and ´Go Helen & Ski - look what you have started!! ‘
Having sailed with Helen many times and rowed with Ski we know our wellbeing can be better on, in or near the water - enjoy!
