My ask: PLEASE HELP! As Board Chair, I planned to MC the BIG Breakfast on March 26, but, due to public health concerns, this has been changed to a virtual event. We were counting on in-person, day-of-the-event donations to help move kids off our wait list (of 700+ youth) into supportive mentoring relationships, and we still need to make this happen! WILL YOU JOIN ME? Support kids in our community and make a donation to the 2020 Virtual BIG Breakfast today!
My story: Nine years ago, I was matched with my Little Sister, Rosy. She was a shy, timid fourth grader carrying burdens too great for any young person. We shared our respective traumatic experiences, bonded, and formed a deep friendship. She's change my life and I hope I've had a little influence on hers. ;) She's now a senior in high school, has been accepted to American University in Washington DC and will be leaving to study International Affairs & Latin American Studies with a cohort of other first-generation students.
There is nothing more powerful than a mentor to address and change the challenges in our society. Will you help ignite the power and potential of youth in our community?
