As a village we are coming together to raise money for Whipsnade Zoo which is really struggling through these difficult times. We are very lucky to live so close and want to do as much as we can to help keep it open.

It’s been more than two months since we welcomed visitors through our doors and just as we thought we would be able to open them again we were dealt another blow; zoos are to remain closed until further notice. 

We cannot understand the government’s decision. We’ve explained to them just how we propose to reopen safely, and we’ve been working tirelessly to redesign the whole experience at our zoos to make this happen. ZSL Whipsnade Zoo will look, feel and be safe. 

Every day we are closed is another day of lost income – income that supports the care of our amazing animals, our world-leading scientific research and our global conservation programmes.
