Fundraising for Young Epilepsy
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Young epilepsy is a great charity supporting children and young people with epilepsy in lots of different aspects of their lives.
I had my first seizure on my 18th birthday and struggled for a long time with my diagnosis and getting used to this set back to my life. But two years later, I don't see it as a set back, it is an addition that has started to shape me as a person.
I am doing this because I want to push myself to inspire others like me. Also, to raise money for a charity that has supported me through my diagnosis and has continued to support me since. My seizures are triggered by lack of sleep, but that will not stop me from doing this trek at night. Epilepsy will not hold me back, there are always safety measures that can be put in place.
I think that it is important for young people with epilepsy to recognise that it does not define you. This charity and its supporters have helped me realise this. I now have a job; I'm getting back into education with a place at university starting this year and the training will help to motivate my fitness.
Epilepsy is extremely complex and affects everyone differently as there are a wide variety of conditions. The charity helps to fund research and support people physically and mentally with these different types.
Thankyou for taking the time to read this, any donation is really appreciated! Every little bit means a lot; It brings me one step closer to my goal.
