Story
As many of you know, I had to make the tough decision to withdraw from the 2024 London Marathon due to a hip injury. It was a setback, but not the end.
Thanks to the generosity of Child Bereavement UK, my marathon place has been rolled over to 2025. This means I now have another chance to run—and to raise vital funds for this amazing charity that provides crucial support to children, young people and families when a child grieves or when a child dies.
If you’ve already donated, thank you. I hope you’ll consider supporting me and this charity for this second attempt.
This time, I’m aiming higher to earn your continued generosity towards this cause. My new goal is to finish the marathon in under 3 hours, shaving 30 minutes off my original target and a significant 48 minutes faster than my last marathon time of 3:48
Child Bereavement UK– which specialises in supporting children and young people up to the age of 25 – is a charity very close to my heart.
In recent years, some of my friends and family members have suffered grief and pain from bereavement, and I am proud to support a charity which makes sure that those facing these challenges need not do so alone.
My incredible Dad also recently enrolled as a volunteer for the charity, having already spent several years working as a child bereavement counsellor, and my mum also engages in grief related voluntary work. Through their experiences, I have seen the positive impact that counselling, care and guidance can have on unimaginable loss, and how vital it is that these services can continue.
All the money I raise will go directly to Child Bereavement UK, to help fund support, guidance and other services for grieving children and families. Against a backdrop of reduced support of public services, fundraising has become an ever more vital source of income.
Thank you so much for any donations you are able to give, especially those who have already given to the cause.
