Story
Message from the charity: Oli Leigh took his own life in 2018 aged 16. Oli was a bright, cheerful and much loved young man who found it very hard to communicate his feelings. He was always the first to offer a shoulder to lean on but never sought out anyone whom he could lean on or confide in. His despair with the world around him and his place in it was unknown to even his nearest and dearest and he could not find happiness or see any future direction. The Oli Leigh Trust provides funds to support organisations working to reduce teenage suicide rates in the UK.
Personal message: I'm running for the Oli Leigh Trust because nobody, let alone young adults and children, should ever feel as though suicide is the only option. After Oli's mum, Michelle, shared her touching story with my football club at the University of Bristol, I instantly wanted to do my part to help this amazing charity in their cause. Their amazing work provides smaller organisations across the UK with the necessary funding to improve their suicide prevention and wellbeing services. Any donations you can give will go a long way towards reducing the rates of suicide among teenagers. Every teenager deserves the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life, and should never feel like they can't cope with whatever life throws at them.
