Story
This page is in memory of my amazing sister Chloe.
She was involved in a tragic accident at 8:50pm on the 3rd of January whilst travelling home the small distance from my parents house with her 8 year old daughter Lexi.
Chloe sadly did not survive despite all of the courageous efforts of the emergency services who gave her every last opportunity they could.
These same people managed to take Lexi and do the same and thanks to them she was able to continue her fight in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Southampton once she landed safely with the air ambulance crew.
She is now making progress and putting up the fight we all know her mother would be proud of.
Her injuries were very severe and due to this there is no solid answers to her recovery at this stage, however we are all proud as a family to watch her improve daily.
Chloe was the most caring, loving, fun and dedicated mother, sister, daughter and would go the extra mile to see all of us smile and have some extra quality in each of our lives and that was the type of person she was born to be.
Which brings me to say... the care she has received from the PICU staff has been ultimately life changing and without them as a whole I could not imagine life without them.
They care for your family just as much as the patient, ensuring your welfare needs are also met at this tough time. There is a constant battle for new resources and equipment that sometimes may not be within the NHS budget.
Friends of PICU works within the ward to support these needs and help provide the requirements to enable them to save lives on a daily basis.
The staff work serious hours day after day and still manage to pull of the what seems ‘impossible’ in many cases.
So I’d like to raise some money to enable this all to continue for future families that may be in our position so they can get the incredible care they deserve.
so on behalf of my sister chloe, Lexi, Dom And all of us in the Lloyd family...
Thank-you for taking the time to read this.
I’d love to reach this target and every penny goes directly to this charity. So please donate and share and spread the word about this amazing charity!
