Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page!
Action Through Enterprise (ATE) is an exciting, innovative small charity carrying out excellent poverty reduction work in Lawra; an extremely isolated, rural, impoverished area of Upper West Ghana. We work to reduce poverty, empower communities, and improve lives. We focus on the creation of sustainable small businesses (BizATE), enabling access to education (EducATE), and, supporting children with
disability (SNAP). In the 10 years since it was founded, ATE has grown
steadily, and is now widely recognised as the leading non-governmental organisation in Lawra. We are proud of be making a measurable difference in the reduction of poverty, working with the most vulnerable to leave no one behind.
Over the last ten years, Action Through Enterprise (ATE) has supported over 2500 children to access an education, over 110 entrepreneurs to set up sustainable businesses, and over 250 disabled children and their families to overcome discrimination, access opportunities, and integrate into society.
My specific fundraising is going towards a new project that will help people all over Lawra to have free access to technology and the internet, and to learn about how to use the computers in free classes we will be providing. The Games company SEGA had been instrumental in providing the foundations for this project, by donating 28 computers and monitors to us. They have finally arrived in Lawra recently, and the whole team behind the project can't wait to open them up for use!
In my time there, I will see through the project from start to finish, and will post constant updates on the progress and how your donations are being used here and on my blog page.
