We work with food suppliers and charities to fight food waste and hunger in London

Story

The harsh reality is 2 million adults and 500,000 children in London will miss a meal today.

The latest estimates say one in four Londoners aren't sure how they will feed themselves and their family.

Meanwhile 1.9 million tonnes of food is wasted by the food industry every year in the UK. By “food industry” we mean all businesses involved in the supply of food. It includes everyone from farmers and growers to manufacturers and processors to wholesalers, retailers and food service companies. 250,000 tonnes of the food that goes to waste each year is still edible. That’s enough for 650 million meals

As an organisation The Felix Project have a dual purpose, they combat food waste and use that surplus food to tackle food poverty.

In essence they use one problem to solve another.
