Story
It seems only yesterday, when I lost my father and when I finally learned the true value of who and what Macmillan are and stand for. Of course I knew who they were, but like many people didn't truly understand how incredible, kind, supportive and more importantly how much they make a huge difference to not only the person affected by cancer or terminally ill people, but also carers and families.
It's also incredible to find so many of us have stories of lost loved ones, families and friends to this dreadful disease and shocking to note that 1 in 3 of us may at some stage in our lives develop cancer. Even as I write this a very good friend of mine is still battling the after effects of stomach cancer and another lost their battle to cancer before Christmas.
When you lose someone who has had such a huge impact on your life, your world crashes around you and you are catapulted into varying emotions.................... grief is a pain so intense that it is almost impossible to describe.
Why am I doing this? I want to give something back and help others and in doing so, wanted to do something very personal for a charity that is so close to my heart. I can not thank Macmillan enough for what they did for me and my family, there are truly incredible.
It would be wonderful if I could raise £10,000 plus for this amazing charity and to also raise further awareness of this disease. My hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust who are a charity that provide real hair wigs for children who have sadly lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
Please help me in my quest to raise funds, every donation would be gratefully received.
