This is a photo of our brilliant mother, Jacqui, on location in Xinjiang in 1988 while working on a TV production tracing the route of the Silk Road.

Those of you that knew her will know that she supported and believed strongly in freedom and human rights for all, and especially for the Uighurs in China.  

Amnesty International was her chosen charity. They continue to campaign to put the atrocities being committed against the Uighurs by China in the spotlight by funding investigations of human rights abuses and putting their researchers on the ground to gather evidence.  They also lobby governments around the world to pressure China to stop this injustice. 

In her memory, we know Jacqui would have preferred little fuss and instead actions towards stopping human rights violation.
