We challenge attitudes on mental health to help anyone affected by mental illness

Story

I have a 'severe mental illness' / 'schizoaffective disorder'. This is annoying, but my life is rather awesome now thanks to lots of help & support from many people.

I'm supporting Rethink because they campaigned for the introduction of the Early Intervention in Psychosis services which got me better, and against these services being cut.

Rethink are challenging cuts to mental health services and benefits across England and Wales. One way they campaign is by getting decision makers to talk to people with mental illness, so Rethink have supported me to talk to Parliamentary committees, NHS England commissioners, senior civil servants in the DWP, and all sorts of other people, which has given me lots of useful skills and masses of confidence. Rethink have also supported me in lots of media appearances challenging public perceptions of people with severe mental illness, including on BBC Breakfast and in the Sun newspaper.
