Story
Celia Hensman was a founder of Thames21, the environmental charity that connects communities to their local rivers in London and beyond.
25 years ago, Celia brought together key organisations in a new, collective initiative to clean up the tidal Thames. This initiative grew into Thames21, which works with volunteers and communities to get hands-on to improve the health of the Thames and its tributaries.
Celia's charm, humour, energy and conviction, her dedication to the river and her belief in Thames21 enabled the charity to develop into the multi-faceted champion for our rivers that it is today.
A donation to Thames21 in Celia Hensman's memory will help Thames21 continue to connect people to their rivers and improve the environment in a way that meant so much to Celia.
