Welcome to my fundraising page!
My name is Caroline and I'm a current volunteer with the organisation Project Trust. Project Trust is a registered educational charity that sends school leavers abroad for twelve months to work in communities outside of Europe.
I'm travelling to Uganda next summer where I will spend my year teaching in a secondary school and running extra-curricular activities. I hope the year will give me a completely new experience and perspective on life. The nearest town to the school is Mityana, which is 10km from where I will be working. This is a very rural project, the water has to be fetched from a local well and there is no reliable source of electricity! Through my education I can offer skills that will help the students to have a better opportunities when seeking employment and give them the chance to do drama, arts and crafts lessons after school that teachers are unable to run.
In order to fund my year abroad Project Trust asks that I raise £3, 950. This goes towards overseas support, flight coasts, insurance and training. Any help you can offer, no matter how small, is gratefully appreciated! Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.
