Daniel was born 14th November in 2007,  Weighing  3lbs 6 oz , it was a massive shock, having been assured at my 30 week check ‘you’re ok’ that was not the case, my waters broke at 31 weeks and went  into labour.

We arrived at the JR hospital, to be advised, ‘there’s no ICU beds in Oxford’ an ambulance was on standby for transfer to another hospital however calls to 10 hospitals could not source one, things progressed and Daniel was born , nearly in the corridor! thankfully they managed to create an additional space and cot to care for Daniel.

It was an emotional  roller coaster journey in NCU  and we are eternally grateful for the amazing support and care received from the NCU Team.

This year we celebrate  Daniel  becoming a teenager, aged 13.

We have formed ‘Daniel’s Running Team’ to help raise funds for SSNAP.  ‘Daniel , Joe, Maggie, Becky,  Mike, Mum & Dad ‘

We plan to run 🏃🏼‍♂️ 🏃🏽‍♀️a marathon a week as a Team during November.

Thanks to our super team of runners 🏃🏽‍♀️ 🏃🏼‍♂️Committed to achieving this goal and to you for supporting this worthy cause. 😍

In the UK, 1 in 10 babies need specialist care at birth. SSNAP supports sick & premature babies and their families in the Newborn Care Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital. Imagine your newborn baby needing specialist care at birth. Instead of those very special days getting to know your baby as a family, you’re catapulted into an unfamiliar world of incubators, wires, medical tests and interventions. While your baby has specialist treatment, we provide emotional and practical support to help you through the trauma & upheaval. We’re there to help families cope, and provide state-of-the-art medical equipment and nursing expertise that could save babies lives.
