I am riding the 100-mile Olympic route for Tommy's, the pregnancy and baby charity.

For myself, because I have been pregnant four times but have two children.

For my mother, who also had four pregnancies and two children.

For everybody who has wanted to be pregnant, been pregnant, had a successful pregnancy or had a less than successful pregnancy.

Tommy's funds research into stillbirth, premature birth and miscarriage and provides information and support for parents-to-be.

I hope you never have need of the work of Tommy's. But isn't it reassuring to know it's there if you do?

For the lucky ones, for the unlucky ones, for my two vibrantly, wonderfully alive daughters and the two sons or daughters I never got to meet.
