Just to say Iam SO excited to have secured a place to run the London Marathon in support of Cancer Research UK. Not only is this a major personal challenge to me but it is also an opportunity to say a big thankyou to Cancer Research UK for what it has achieved so far and to help raise the funding required to support the advancement of treatment.

Myself, friends and colleagues have recently been affected by this indiscriminate disease and tragically have experienced the loss felt by families when loved ones have died.

Fortunately however the outcome is not always the same. Thanks to advancement in technology and practice and the work undertaken by Cancer Research UK many are successfully treated, although this can be quite often a difficult and distressing time.

Having had close personal experience of those surviving cancer, those fighting it at this moment in time and unfortunately those who have died, supporting the work of Cancer Research UK seems the least I can do to show gratitude for the work they have done and in memory of dear friends and colleagues who are with us no more.
