Cats Protection: Supporting their incredible ongoing care & treatment

Brighton Marathon 2019 · 14 April 2019 ·
UPDATE: It's now September 2021 and the whole world has shifted several times since I wrote the original below. Two marathons has morphed into three and I'm in the final stage of what has been a very emotional journey to achieve the dream of running the London marathon. The love and conviction for my chosen cause has only strengthened over the past year as our two geri-cat-rics have kept us sane with their constant love and affection. The past 18 months have been hard, really hard, but if you can give, please do. Every single penny of support in gonna help hurl me round that course.
Jan 2019: Last February we adopted Ruth and Rosie from the North London Cats Protection. They have made us so happy and we believe that coming home with us has made them very happy too. To watch them transform from two very nervous, frightened girls into the loving, affectionate, quirky cats they are now has been inspiring, especially for Emma, my wife, as this is her first time caring for an animal. The volunteers and staff were so kind when we went to adopt, they said it cost £180 per cat to provide initial care, something we were not in a position to donate at the time. I would love to repay that and then some to help provide not only safety and care for the cats but also tools and support for the staff to maintain the high level of service that they carry out.
Moreover though I hope that running for Cats Protection helps spread a message of compassion and empathy in humans towards our feline neighbours.
