Story
Casa Nirvana and our wider gaming community would like to support the MS Society of Ireland for a number of reasons. We are aware that in these unprecedented times, many charities are seeing a reduction in funding as fundraising events may no longer be running due to Covid-19. We would like to support MS Ireland specifically as it is a charity close to the hearts of some of our community members:
Kaze's Story: My sister suffers from MS. It is often called an invisible illness because for many people suffering with the disease it lies under the surface, never showing any outwardly signs, but the toll on the suffers can be immense. From crippling and chronic exhaustion, numbness in limbs and unfortunately often the loss or severe reduction in usage of the limbs. MS Ireland is a charity near and dear to my family and has been a big part of my sister's life since her diagnosis 10 years ago. When she got the diagnosis she decided there and then that she wouldn't let it decide her future so she immediately started fundraising and training for treks and hikes all across the world. From The jungles of Thailand to the majesty of Mt Kilimanjaro and to the very tip of the planet itself, Everest Base Camp, she's done it all. She's a beacon of hope to other sufferers, but still the disease is there and has taken away a lot of the comforts that most people take for granted. While there is no current cure for MS, only hopeful alleviation from symptoms, with enough funding it is entirely possible that a cure could be developed in our lifetimes and it's my hope that by supporting this charity we could speed it up all that much quicker.
Golfhaus' Story: As some of you know, I was diagnosed with MS about nine years ago. I'm incredibly fortunate to be what they call "minimally impacted," but as treatment often involves deliberately weakening the immune system, times like these are particularly fearful.
Thank you for helping us support MS Ireland.
