An amazing group Weldmar Hospiceare supporters and fundraisers will be taking on the challenging twelve day trek across Madagascar.

Story

As if the Sahara Desert wasn't enough, I'm now heading over to Madagascar to help raise money for the amazing Weldmar. Here's why I'm doing it......

Weldmar Hospicecare provides specialist end of life care for adults in Dorset and support for their families and loved ones.  They also offer their amazing care at home from Weldmar Community Nurses, they have a dedicated team of nurses, doctors, therapists, social workers and counsellors, All of their care is provided for free, but they need to raise £18,000 every day just to be able to open their doors. Only 21% of their funds are provided by the NHS. The rest is raised by the support of the local community. They rely on crazy people like us that are willing to challenge our bodies and minds and the amazing people like you who sponsor us to do it!!!!

Myself and a group of amazing (and equally as mad) people are taking on a challenging twelve day trip over the towering mountains and across verdant grasslands and exotic rainforests of the incredible island of Madagascar to support Weldmar Hospicecare -  thank you for supporting us!

Weldmar Hospicecare needs to raise £26,000 a day to continue the specialist end of life care we provide in Dorset, both in the comfort of patient's own homes and at our IPU in Dorchester. 20% of our costs are met by the NHS, the rest comes from the generosity of our local community.
