Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Myself (Carl's partner), Kay Cooper, Nadine Williams & Kirsty Payne Le-Billon all from SYP Control Room, Simon Owens (SYP Inspector), John Hare (fellow SYP dog section) are running/moving every day in January in memory of PC Carl Tyrrell, and to raise money for MIND, the charity that supports those with mental health issues.
There are also several sub pages with colleagues and friends of mine & Carl's who are running too - Dan Haile, Simon Kitchen, Nikki Hart & the Hart Boys (Team Euro campers forever) Helen Arden, Kevin Bradley, Lauren Morton, Emma Schofield - to name just a few. I'm very proud of the response.
This is a month long running challenge whereby we must run/jog/walk every day - there is no set distance but we must do 31 consecutive days of moving / running in January for 'R.E.D 'Run Every Day in January' which is a nationwide movement to support all those suffering with mental health problems and needing support.
I wanted to do something for Carl in his memory. He made a difference and so i want to make a difference and try and take some kind of action to help people suffering with anxiety and depression, which is a cruel and debilitating illness. I want people to have access to the help they so desperately need. In short, I wouldn't wish any family the pain & devastation that Carl's family and myself feel losing him to this illness.
There are many reasons depression happens. Genetic, situational - all deserve access to help. All may reach crisis point. It is a fight that some can win with help from charities like MIND.
Most importantly - if you suffer - YOU HAVE NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF!!!!!
Part of the challenge is to post every day on Facebook or Instagram, tagging the RED challenge and to update you that we are keeping up the challenge and worthy of being sponsored. There are currently a huge number of people taking part in the R.E.D challenge worldwide.
Please help us make a difference for others.
