Story
The Cancer Well-Being Service offers tremendous support for those diagnosed with cancer and offers therapies, counselling, exercise classes and art therapy to name just a few - and most importantly a cup of tea. As a group we met at a Mosaic Class. This is where the magic began. Hooked on mosaics and led by Mary Green, a professional mosaic artist, we set about creating art work for the Centre’s garden. The garden was in need of restoration and with the help of donated plants and the work of a volunteer gardener, Jenny Grainger, and others, the garden is becoming a beautiful, restful place. Although the art work has stopped during Lockdown it is a good opportunity to raise further funds towards art materials and a fence to protect the hours of therapeutic art work that has been invested for the future enjoyment of clients who attend the Cancer Well-Being Service.
