For the last few years I've ran the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon on my Mams behalf. We'd fundraise together, I'd run the 10k and then we would hand over all the money collected to the Irish Kidney Association.
The Irish Kidney Association provide support,help,advice and guidancd to renal patience and there families. They helped me understand what was happening to my mam and assisted us as a family to improve mams quality of life.
After christmas 2019 mam would have been getting ready to start home dyalisis which would mean only one trip to Waterford Regional Hospital a week instead of the normal 3 trips each week she had been doing for the last 10 years.
Unfortunately this wasnt ment to be and on January 1st 2020 our mam, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully.

Our mam was a legend,  she was witty, loyal and the most caring person I've ever known. She was my person. And even though we miss her every single day,we are so happy to speak about her, hear stories and laugh about good times we shared with the lady we were so lucky to call mammy💖

Mam always told me "life is for living , so get up and do things when you are able."

So on the October bank holiday weekend  im going to run a Marathon in memory of our Mam Anne . Im running 42.195 kilometres  for those that cant, for those who wish they could and if I'm honest because I think I can. 

Over the next four weeks ill share with you my route ,training , and some more information about the amazing work the Irish Kidney Association does.

Every cent goes to this fabulous charity so if you can in any way will you please help me raise some much needed funds for the Irish Kidney Association in memory of our Mammy.
