We will be volunteering on a pilgrimage to Lourdes in memory of our Granny, who was devoted to the work of the charity. Our family has a long history with Across starting with our Great Grandad, who attended as a VIP (Patient). This motivated our Granny to volunteer as a way to payback the amazing care Across provided her Dad. She then made this an annual event giving up her holidays to help those needing the support. She was indeed a fantastic person and always put the needs of others first. She, unfortunately, became very ill and did attend as a VIP herself and again, Across looked after her and made a tough time just that little bit easier for her and the family. So with our beloved Gran no longer with us, we would like to do our bit for the charity that has done so much for the family. In France, we will be helping vulnerable people with personal care, pushing wheelchairs and providing a friendly face in what can be a very emotional time.

 

We hope to raise as much money as possible to help cover our travel costs.
