Who We Are
We are 3 graduates who work for Cambridge University Press and have started a project to fundraise for the Press' charity of the year - The Castle School.
About The Castle School
The Castle School is an all-area special school based
in Cambridge with provision for 185 students between two and
19 years of age, each with an education health and care plan. The school is a warm and welcoming place, where staff provide pupils with a bespoke experience using purpose-built facilities. As a state maintained school, budgets are constrained by funding which does not adequately cover the cost of providing all the provisions students deserve.
Why They Need Support
The school aims to develop its library and therapy
provision.
An improved library space will help to create a positive and
engaging reading environment which is inclusive and accessible to all and where staff can encourage reluctant readers to engage with books, to develop and love of reading and of being read to. Engaging with books and with other readers will help to build the reading and communication skills that are so vital for students' integration into society. Further support will also help the school to provide more therapeutic provision, enhancing the curriculum through the increased use of art, play and drama therapy.
We hope you are able to help us with our fundraising - all donations are appreciated no matter how small!
