Story

Thank you for visiting my just giving page.

On December 13th, 2019, I lost my wonderful wife Lesley,
best friend and an amazing mother to James our son to colon cancer at the age of only 64. When initially diagnosed she was given a year to live – Lesley was a fighter and she lived for four years thanks to the NHS, Florence Nightingale Hospice, The John Hampden School where she worked as a Teaching Assistant, her friends and family. Lesley saw our son married to beautiful  and loving Katherine and a few weeks before her death she saw Theo & grandson born. Theo has a picture of Nanny Lesley holding him in his bedroom and he says good morning to her. The picture above says it all a loving grandmother, mother and wife and her outlook on life  be happy and positive.

In April 2023 I took part in a sponsored walk of the final part of the Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain with her brother and others to raise funds for a Hospice in her beloved Eastbourne – where Lesley grew up, St Wilfred’s Hospice. Charitable funding is essential the hospice movement, on average only 30% of their funding comes from the NHS, with the remainder needing to be raised via charitable donations, which is why your donation today is so important and greatly appreciated.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they will never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they will send your money directly to the charity. So, it is the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Every penny helps - Thank you
