Story
At this time we are all very worried for ourselves, family and friends here in the UK and we are all doing our very best to support our frontline Healthcare workers in the NHS.
We would ask you to also consider the staff and children at Yasen' Social Centre in Belarus who are also suffering with the challenges of COVID-19 and who are desperate for our help.

We have not been able to bring any children to Bristol this summer and have no idea when this part of our program may restart. At this time of year Andy and other link members would usually be arriving in Belarus with a great deal of aid as well as the hope that the future could be better for "our" children. Now even that hope has been taken away.
As you have probably seen or read, the COVID-19 pandemic is just as rife in Belarus as it is here at home and at Yasen' Elena and her staff have a particular problem because of the transient nature of the children they are caring for. Elena can source what she needs, if (to be blunt) she had some money to pay for it. Hand sanitizer, masks and a contactless thermometer are her immediate priorities. The next issue is being able to clean all their (staff and children's) crockery and cutlery at a high-enough temperature to ensure safe use. There are two solutions to this problem, either single use plates, dishes and cutlery, or a dishwasher. Elana has spoken to the local Sanitary Inspector who has confirmed that a dishwasher would clean at a high enough temperature to satisfy their guidelines.
Dr Grant and his Y8 pupils from Castle School, Thornbury, have generously agreed that the money they had be raising for a printer/scanner could be re-directed to support this urgent initiative, we are very grateful for their much needed kindness and understanding.
