Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
On the 17th October, I am taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks trekking challenge to raise money for the fantastic Richard House Children’s Hospice.
Richard House gives free care and support to children and young people who are at risk of death because of a life-limiting or life-threatening health condition. Every year they support over 300 families across East London, including the parents and siblings of each young person.
It is every parent’s worst nightmare to see their child develop a condition that they will never recover from. In those final days, months or years, the time spent together is precious.
The staff at Richard House work tirelessly to create a happy haven for all families. Alongside clinical care for the young people, they arrange activities and short breaks away with nursing support so families can create positive memories together. Families also receive counselling, therapy, bereavement support and more. And all for free. That’s critical in East London where many of the families are struggling financially.
So, in aid of this great charity I will be trekking 24 miles in 12 hours, across the three tallest peaks in Yorkshire. That’s the equivalent of walking a marathon, whilst ascending/descending almost 3km.
I’m aiming to raise £250. Any donation you can give to help me reach my goal would be fantastic. What could your money buy for the charity?
- £10 could provide transport for children and young adults to attend activities
- £25 could help a child to express themselves through an art therapy session
- £50 could provide a multi-sensory therapy session with a play and care worker
Don’t forget - if you're a UK taxpayer clicking Gift Aid adds a further 25% to your donation.
Thank you so much for your support.
