If you have seen me in some far flung news paper. I was diagnosed with stage 4 Testicular cancer and I'm raising money to help others. I don't want to put you to sleep with another cancer sob story, watch my video it tells you about me : http://youtu.be/A363aaI1oYk
However, I would like to tell you about Teenage Cancer Trust. Teenage cancer trust is a charity that helps people aged from 13-24 deal with cancer by building wards in hospitals that are dedicated to suit the needs of the patients. They do this by making not making it feel like a hospital ! I'm sure as all of you know hospitals aren't really a place you would like to chill out, but when you are receiving treatment or just popping in for an appointment you're in hospital more than you are at home. The TCT wards try and bridge the divide between being at home and being in hospital, by having smaller wards, more private rooms and having simply things like a TV and food you can eat when you want.
Without wards such as these I would of felt isolated and distant. Speaking to someone your own age and talking about similar experiences helps with the psychological battle of cancer.
Every pound counts ! No donation is too small.
Thank you,
