Story
We're supporting the British Porphyria Association's (BPA) 2020 Active 21 Summer Fundraising Campaign.
The BPA is a small charity supporting patients and their families from across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales who are affected by porphyria.
Sue has worked/volunteered for the BPA for more than 10 years, but never felt she was well enough to do a physical challenge. This has now changed and the three of us, Ian, Sue and Abi have set a 321 mile challenge to consist of daily 2 mile walks across August and September and various cycles too, to make the mileage.
You can learn more about the work the BPA do here: www.porphyria.org.uk. The BPA's primary aim is to support and educate patients, relatives and medical professionals about the porphyrias, so as to improve the lives of those living with the effects of the conditions. Additionally, we aim to promote research into this group of rare conditions.I have decided to get involved in Active 21 because the BPA's funds are depleted this year as Covid-19 has affected our major sporting fundraisers. In addition, Sue was meant to be swimming a mile in Windermere in June which was cancelled. So instead, as a family, we've set our challenge.
Please support us in ANY way that you can. No matter how small, all donations will help us reach our target.
Thank you so much, love the Burrells, Ian, Sue and Abi x
