Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my lovely purple JustGiving page. Over the past two years I've been increasingly running and raising money for charity, most importantly for the MS Society. People ask me why I run, and I never really thought about it. Until someone gave me the answer, an answer that just hit home when I heard it. I run because I still can. Having been diagnosed about 5 years ago with MS, I've been extremely lucky in that it was not very severe. 4 years after having been diagnosed, I had a relapse. That's where things got scary. The first 5 years are critical so having a relapse after 4 years was far from welcome. I'm now at the stage where I have to take medication. I'm terrified of needles so I will be trying the new meds which don't come with injections. I've registered to several runs starting in December, including my very first half-marathon to keep motivated and keep reminding myself and others that I'm still capable of running. I won't be actively fundraising for each event, but I created this page for those who want to show their support for the MS Society and the work they do, and posting updates on each run right here. A little encouragement for me is of course also very welcome ;) I will keep running... because I still can.
