Story
I have set myself a challenge to complete 110,000 sit ups and 90,000 press ups during 2021!
In January 2021 I challenged myself to complete 300 sit ups and 250 push ups every day, to improve my own wellbeing and to try and keep active despite gyms being closed! I aimed to get outside as much as I could and do these exercises every day. Well I completed it! And it inspired me to set myself a year long goal, and to raise vital funds for Rose Road at the same time.
Rose Road have remained open throughout the pandemic and have been vital in supporting disabled children, young people and their families through this difficult time.
I have been an Ambassador for Rose Road for more than 10 years, have raised funds and have continued to support them with organising corporate triathlons, quiz nights and cycling in France every year (but not in 2020 due to Covid!)
Given that it is still impossible to consider any larger scale fundraising events for 2021 at this stage I thought maybe I should resurrect something to support Rose Road but also involve anyone else who may like to join me, by setting yourself a personal challenge in order to raise money for Rose Road, and improve your own wellbeing.
For those of you that struggle with formal exercise I would say that the power of positive thought and just some good fresh air every day certainly helps as well as the great feeling of helping others in need can really help.
