Story
Everyone deserves a happy Christmas, and Edinburgh Women's Aid wants to ensure that the women and children they serve -- often at the most difficult time of their lives -- are able to have the warmth, cheer and love we all wish for at this time of year.
Therefore, every year Edinburgh Women's Aid holds a Christmas Appeal. Last year they had to shift the way they did this due to the ongoing COVID pandemic asking for financial contributions rather than goods. This was extraordinarily successful with women thrilled they were able to make choices about what gifts their children most needed or wanted. They are again asking for financial donations in place of gifts.
Women told EWA:
"Today I am going shopping and am excited to be able to choose presents for my children."
"Before your help. I didn't have enough money to get the food and items I needed from the shop for me and my baby, thank you!"
£10 would contribute to the cost of a Christmas meal for a woman and her children living in refuge.
£25 would contribute to the cost of presents, activities and trips over the holiday period to ensure that a child in refuge has a more enjoyable Christmas.
£50 would contribute to the cost of food and essentials for a woman and her children living in refuge over the Christmas holidays.
Please donate generously to our Christmas charity.
