Dear family and friends,

From the 27th-31st October I will be participating in a cycling charity bike ride which will be taking place in Israel. The charity that I'll be raising money for is called 'Friends of Alyn'. The money raised from your sponsorships will go the Alyn hospital in Israel (Jerusalem) which is one of the worlds leading specialists in the active and intensive rehabilitation of children, regardless of their religion or ethnic origin, who are afflicted with a broad range of physical disabilities. The ultimate aim of ALYN is to rehabilitate the youngsters in its care and to return them to their families and to the community as quickly as possible having provided them with the skills to function as independently as possible, each child according to their limitations.

Every rider is committed to raising $2500; clearly I would be delighted to raise more money for the hospital but although this is out of my hands, I kindly ask you to give what you feel you can afford for this great cause!

On a personal note I feel that this will be one of my greatest achievements as I will have to cycle at least 200 miles over five days and clearly this will require a good level of fitness. Therefore I will be dedicating my time during the next 5 months to get as fit as possible!
