Story
On Sunday, May 18, catastrophic flooding and landslides devastated northeast Bosnia & Herzogovina. In the district of Brcko, entire villages have been evacuated and destroyed, and the flooding continues. The waters continue to rise, flooding people's homes and washing away markers for landmines left from the Bosnian war and there is danger that the mines themselves will be dislodged and detonated. We need your help now! Your donation, of any size will be used to secure essential life saving items for the men, women and children of Brcko.
Svitac (also known as Firefly Bosnia), a youth arts charity based in Brcko, has been gathering necessities to help people in this crisis. Volunteers and staff are distributing clean drinking water, diapers, food, essential medicines, toiletries, rain gear, and other basic supplies for people displaced by the flooding. Your donation will help to purchase these supplies, through Red Cross Brcko. This is an ongoing crisis and we need to take action now!
