Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We did it! The Bowes Park Sprinters are a team of assorted adults and children who took part in the 5km Big Fun Run in Victoria Park on Saturday 25th October 2014.  It was a lovely autumn morning - perfect for a run! Some of younger team members did sprint ahead and led all the way, whilst others (the 'oldies') went for the 'slow but sure' approach but we all completed in respectable times! We had the BEST supporters in the park - lots of enthusiastic cheering aided by a very loud hooter - just what you need to keep you going!  Thank you to all who have made donations and if you have not yet donated there is still time.

What we have in common is Donald Robinson - dad to Emma and Simon and friend  to the rest of us. In May Donald had a stroke, up to then, when he was not at work sorting out the signals on the underground, he was generally to be found hitting a ball across a court or honing his martial arts skills with Simon. Stroke has profoundly changed Donald's life and that of his family - he is working hard and is now at home from the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square (having spent four moths in various hospitals) and it was great to have as member of the 'cheering' team for our run.

The Stroke Association provides information and support to individuals, families and professionals, raises awareness and funds research into the prevention and treatment of stroke. So please sponsor us and help the Stroke Association to continue their vital work.
