Story
Hello Friends,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know, over the years I've struggled with my weight. When most of my friends in the UK met me all those years ago, I'd just completed one of the most personally satisfying things I'd ever done, and lost over 100 pounds.
I felt on top of the world, and physically the best that I'd ever been.
Last year, seven years after that personal triumph and after clocking up over 500,000 miles on the road performing at Country Music venues all over the UK, Holland and Denmark, I (like many people who struggle with their weight) had let all that weight come back on and more.
It was time to make a change.
So I rejoined Weight Watchers and with their help and support, the weight is coming back off again.
But I'd like to make this challenge more personal this time. I'm leaving the UK soon to live full-time at my home in Nashville, and I'd like to leave a legacy behind. I'd like to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK, a cause that is closer to my heart than I can express in words.
So to all the clubs and venues that I've played in over the years I'd like to issue this challenge: For every pound that I lose, I'd like you to match me and donate a pound to Cancer Research UK. I intend to lose 100 pounds. So I'm asking for £100 pounds from each club. In the average club I play, this amounts to less than £2 pounds per person. What do you say? Is it a deal?
If you don't feel that you can match A Pound For A Pound, that's not a problem. Any amount will be accepted for this great cause.
And remember, this is not just for clubs. If any of you would like to donate as an individual, that's fine. This is a cause that needs as much support as possible, so every penny is precious and will be gratefully received.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to Cancer Research UK and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it's the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So dig deep and give generously.
Thanks again for your time,
Bobby D. Sawyer
