My name is Ken Bayne & along with 70 others , I volunteer my time with Bloodrun Emergency Voluntary Service on Teesside & North Yorkshire. 

Our aim is to provide a 24 hour / 365 days a year free courier service to hospitals across  Teesside and North Yorkshire, our priority is save lives, reduce suffering and help divert funds paid to taxi and courier companies to front line services.

I’m currently at the time of writing , on a train heading to St. George’s Hospital in Tooting, London with an urgent sample  & then on  a pathology laboratory in central London with another sample .

We were asked to get involved in this Bloodrun just last night , I boarded the train at 8:00am this morning & will deliver the 1st urgent sample around at 11:45am.

Our normal response is either using a blood bike or blood car , but in view of distance & time , the train was the best option.

Our priority is always Patient 1st
