Story
We have been looking for ways to help our community in these challenging and extraordinary times. From a range of great ideas contributed by the team, we selected FareShare as the charity through which to try to channel our support.
Fareshare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 17 independent organisations. Together, they take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and provide it to almost 11,000 frontline charities and community groups. The food reaches charities across the UK, including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters and community cafes.
Every week, they provide enough food to create almost a million meals for vulnerable people. Fareshare is in particular need for funding, food and volunteers to effectively respond to the Coronavirus outbreak and ensure those most vulnerable are not put at increased risk of hunger.
