Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am a volunteer at Dublin Zoo and have seen first hand the amazing work that the zoo is doing for wildlife conservation. Over the last 20 years Dublin Zoo has become a world-class zoo, and through continuous improvements is now providing habitats that have animal welfare at their heart. And in addition to participating in breeding programmes for endangered species, Dublin Zoo also supports a number of wildlife conservation projects in the home countries of the animals that we have in the zoo.
Caring for the a range of different animals and meeting the needs of the various species comes at the astronomical price of €500,000 per month. In the past the zoo has been self-sustaining with no government funding, and has covered these costs through admission fees at the zoo gates. However, with having had to close through lockdowns, and only limited visitor numbers over the summer, funds are now being drained, and the zoo is appealing for help.
If you can support this vital work then please consider donating to the zoo. I'm not a professional photographer, but I have put together a small wall calendar (8x8") with some of my photos from the zoo. Pictures that will feature on the calendar can be seen in the media gallery.
Please give whatever you can, and the names of all contributors will go into the hat, and two names will randomly be drawn and will be sent a calendar each.
Thank you!!!!!
