Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page in memory of my Dad, Bill Yule who died suddenly but peacefully on 5th November 2023.
He was an amazing Dad to Alastair and I, a loving husband to my mum, Bridget, a fun-loving Grandad Bill to Jayden, Annaisia and Cooper and a caring father-in-law to Kelly. But he was also a world respected child psychologist who has helped thousands of children around the world. Our family are so proud of him.
Along with colleagues from the Children and War Foundation (a Norwegian charity which he co-founded in 2000) he developed the Teaching Recovery Techniques (TRT) manuals. He travelled to many countries including Sri Lanka, Iraq and Ukraine to train local people in these techniques so that they could then train others. During lockdown he quickly learned how to use Zoom so that he could continue training people remotely and was particularly busy doing this after the invasion of Ukraine in early 2022. Less than two weeks before his untimely death he was delivering training via Zoom to Turkish volunteers dealing with the traumatic aftermath of the earthquakes that devastated their country in February 2023.
There are so many children around the world needing the help that Children and War (UK) can give so I would be really grateful if you could give a donation in memory of my Dad to enable the charity which he co-founded to continue this very important work.
THANK YOU.
Claire Yule
