Story
WHY?
Needless to say, the last few months have been tough for everyone, but charities like Bolton Lads & Girls Club have suffered considerably.
Financially, as to be expected, the Club has taken a financial loss, with some Patrons unfortunately unable to continue supporting them due to the uncertainty they are themselves facing, their events for the year have also been cancelled, leading to a further big loss in income.
However, despite this, they have huge aspirations to begin a new project in July, a Bereavement Project to support any Young People and their families who have suffered bereavement. The club works with the most vulnerable families in the UK, in these families death is a common occurrence largely due to drug and alcohol abuse, when these children lose a parent or sibling it has even worse consequences than usual. The funds will go towards helping the grief loss and loneliness campaign and the £26k we expect to raise COULD, for example, help pay for the practitioner.
Your participation in our Big Bolton Dash will fund this project. There is currently nothing of its kind in Bolton, so this will be ground-breaking for our town.
