Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Emily and I completed the London Thames Half Marathon on the 29th October 2017 supported and cheered on by Charlotte.
We are now physically, mentally and emotionally preparing for our biggest physical challenge yet.
The Virgin Money London Marathon 2018....Crikey! Can't believe I just wrote that.
How did we get to this? Charlotte?
Way back on a Saturday in October 2013 we were "at lunch" celebrating my (Bev's) birthday. It was a mild day and we sat overlooking the sea at Pentire, Newquay.
I think it was me who mentioned wanting to do a challenge and Ems mentioned it had been the Cardiff half marathon the weekend before. Need I say, to those who know us that 2 bottles (or so) of wine later we had agreed that we would all enter the Cardiff half in 2014.
During coffee and breakfast on the Sunday morning we entered! In memory of my wonderful Dad and on behalf of the British Heart Foundation...and so the madness began.
Charlotte and I completed that challenge cheered on by Emily who used the excuse of a 2nd Gap year touring South America to be our supporter that day.
We have since completed another 6 half marathons.
On the day of the London Marathon 2017 Emily and I ran in the Southampton Half. Emily announced that she was a bit bored with Half's and wanted a bigger challenge. I said absolutely NOT and to count me out.
That was the same day Charlotte went to watch the London Marathon and was so inspired she suggested we could all do 2018.
So began the thought process , training and ambition to participate and complete in this iconic event.
