Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We set up this page to encourage Bev’s friends and family to make donations to the MacMillan Cancer Support charity instead of donating flowers for her funeral.
April 2022 Bev came out of surgery after having part of her lung removed following her cancer diagnosis. All indicators suggested she had beaten the dreaded ‘C’ and was on the road back to recovery. In the autumn 2022 she was struggling and despite numerous check ups, all seemed to be ok. In May 2023 Bev was told they had missed two lumps that appeared on her latest scan but they were contained and with chemo & radiotherapy her prognosis was positive. After 1 round of chemo mum went into hospital with a chest infection at the beginning of July, which is where she remained until the 19th. Up until this time she was ever determined to get better and return home. Sadly we were told that the anti-biotic wasn’t working and there was nothing more they could do. The 19th July we brought her home to be looked after and so she could be around her family that she adored. The 24th July she finally slipped away with family by her side.
Bev was one of the most selfless, determined, strong and kindest of people you would ever meet. She has left a massive hole in our hearts but we take comfort that she is no longer in pain or suffering!
Her heart touched so many people and her love and devotion to her children & grandchildren was unmeasured. We are so proud of her and the person she was.
We thank MacMillan nurses who we called upon many times when other departments had failed us, and nothing was ever too much for them - thank you x.
