BETTER PLACED GET ON THEIR BIKES… TO DO THE ITALIAN JOB!
2000klm in 24Hrs – Static Bike-A-Thon… UK to Rome.
Hoping to raise £5,000
WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE?
We are embarking on a static journey from the Uk to Rome, focused on a continuous 24 hour bike ride covering 2000 kilometres from the 21st - 22nd April 2016 . We will be using spinning bikes in each of our three offices in Leeds, London and Manchester to complete the distance and it will all be streamed live on a webcam so sponsors (You guys!) can track our progress.
Sounds easy!? Unfortunately not, our working day will continue around our cycle slots regardless of if we have been cycling throughout the night - So if we have to cycle between 4am – 7am – we will be straight into work after we finish!
WHY ARE WE CYCLING?
We are working towards raising £5,000 for ‘Pancreatic Cancer Action’. We are supporting our employee Kate Siegel who is determined to raise funds and awareness of Pancreatic Cancer after sadly losing her mother to the cause last year.
Pancreatic Cancer is the UK's fifth biggest cancer killer and 24 people die a day from the disease. The 5 year survival rate is just 4%, a figure which has not changed in over 40 years.
Most pancreatic cancer patients are diagnosed too late. Pancreatic Cancer Action is committed to working towards earlier diagnosis of the disease so that surgery, currently the only cure, is made available to the sufferer.
WHO IS TAKING PART IN THE CHALLENGE?
All of the Consultants and Directors across the Leeds, London and Manchester Offices are taking part in the cycle for Pancreatic Cancer
Action.
WHERE ARE WE CYCLING?
We are cycling on a stationary bike in our offices.
P.S A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR PARTNER THE GYM GROUP WHO HAVE VERY KINDLY LOANED US THE BIKES TO DO THIS EVENT.
