Story
Hey Contagious - thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This charity is very close to my heart. My young cousin, Amelie, suffers from a severe visual impairment called Microphthalmia (small eyes). It’s a condition that is often associated with a secondary abnormality which, in Amelie’s case, is autism.
I have seen first-hand what this charity has done for my family and it means so much to me that Contagious is contributing to that. I asked my aunt if she could share her experience with me to give some indication of just how important this charity has been in their lives and she asked me to pass this on to the Contagious team:
‘When Amelie was born, we realised very quickly that something wasn’t right with her eyes. It took four weeks to get a diagnosis and when we were told that she has Microphthalmia we had no idea where to turn. Then we found MACS and no longer felt alone. We went along to a family weekend organised by the charity and it was inspiring to see all these kids with a visual impairment acting like regular kids and having fun.
It has brought us and Amelie friendship, confidence and a bit of respite. Like all charities, MACS is struggling as a result of the pandemic but it threw us a lifeline when we were at our lowest point and we would be so grateful if you could help this charity to survive and do the same.’
Thanks Contagious!
